Forest Management

Forestry is a complex activity, often undertaken over many decades and through more than one generation. Understanding how to best manage your forest investment requires specialist knowledge, skills and relationships. Our forest management services include:

  • Long-term professional forest management contracts

  • Resource consent applications, submissions, monitoring and public liaison

  • Risk management – insurance, Health and Safety, fire, environmental

  • Forest environment monitoring and management (including pest and disease)

  • Advocating on your behalf with lawyers, accountants and other professionals

  • Mapping and GIS services.

Tending

We can provide you with a silviculture plan specific to your forestry block.

Thinning

Thinning removes the poorer quality trees that are smaller or malformed, and prioritises the growth of the remaining, higher quality trees to maximise the returns from your harvest.

Pruning

Pruning your forest is undertaken to grow clear wood butt logs on the tree. These logs command a price premium and are sawn into appearance-grade, knot-free timber products.
