Forest Management Group is made up of 10 local offices covering the north and south islands of New Zealand. Our group provides you with experience and specialist expertise across all aspects of commercial forestry. We can help to establish, manage and harvest your forest to achieve the best returns possible.
Our History
Formed in 1990, Forest Management was formed and continues to provide forest owners with industry-leading expertise in the establishment, tending, harvesting, and marketing in Canterbury, the West Coast, and Otago/Southland. With experience, scale, and direct access to markets – both export and domestic – we ensure you get the best result from your forest investment.
In 2001, we opened up offices in Nelson and Blenheim to service the Tasman and Marlborough regions. The total forest area under our management in these regions currently exceeds 8,000 hectares. We specialise in providing our Tasman and Marlborough clients with professional wood harvesting services, whether they own large forests or a small woodlot. In these regions we also undertake a range of consulting, establishment, and forest management services.
In 2003, we expanded to the North Island opening up offices in Napier, Manawatu and Wairarapa. We work across the lower North Island, providing harvesting, marketing, silviculture and ETS services for numerous clients.

Key contracts have included NZ Super Fund, Rayonier, Forest Enterprises, Gibbons Holdings, Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Rārua and Tahuhu Forestry, CNBM and multiple regional and district councils.
