Forest Management Group has been heavily involved in working with the Emissions Trading Scheme since forestry became a participant in 2008.

We have a large area of post 1990 forest already registered into the scheme, and continue to work with forest owners registering forests, and the buyers of carbon credits.

We are also undertaking a large and growing planting program to take advantage of the opportunities that ETS offers forest growers.

Through our scale of operation we are bringing smaller forest owners together to provide larger and more saleable parcels of units.

From 1 July 2010 New Zealand emitters will be required to buy upwards of 15 million units per annum and from 2013 this could rise to over 30 million units per annum.

Although we can also sell units offshore, we have a large potential market here in New Zealand.
